SALISBURY OVAL PLAYGROUND

Public BBQ

Salisbury Oval Playground sits along Brown Terrace like a well-intentioned promise that delivers mixed results. The centerpiece tower boasts an impressive slide and flying fox that had kids queuing with genuine enthusiasm, though my three-year-old found the climbing challenge a bit ambitious for tiny limbs. Two BBQs anchor the picnic area under decent shade structures, complete with the modern marvel of USB charging points - though I'd strongly recommend bringing cleaning supplies, as previous users clearly subscribed to the "leave no trace except grease" philosophy. The basketball court's positioning raises eyebrows, with a ring placement that seems designed by someone who's never watched children play. While the playground shows its age in places and maintenance feels sporadic, the flying fox remains genuinely popular. Fair warning: cleanliness standards fluctuate dramatically, so a quick reconnaissance before settling in proves wise.
